These creatures came
Out of the storm
In a moonless night
When the dark child was born
They took it with them
Out of it's crib
Damned it to sleep
And buried it deep
It's hard to forget
The ugly child
When you hear it calling
In the middle of the night
Through the mist
Closer again
Through the night
All over this land
They always say
They will return
When the child awakes
To murder and burn
And sometimes
In stormy moonless nights
My fear makes me
Run away and hide
I often pray
To the good lord then
Not to let this child
Wake up
Again
It's hard to forget....
